There were birdies, I tell you, little birdies actually at our seed feeder this morning! Mac and I were united in our excitement. I don't know what they were, mind - little brown birdies, a tolerably pale brown, with perhaps a hint of red at head and chest, possibly a touch of yellow in the wing - but definitely songbirds of some kind, four of 'em, all chowing down on the sunflower seeds. And a scrub jay hopping about in the grass, and a squirrel tidying up whatever the birdies let fall.
And a Jesuit who came to lunch, in the form of Brother Guy. Who is welcome to come back any time, because that was such good fun.
